Vodafone 3G Mobile Broadband Speed Report
As I'm moving out of the city I have been evaluating the different internet options available to me at my new place. Unfortunately rural internet is still a joke in most places in NZ.
While the vodem device was able to connect to the network I was not able to download any data. And when I drove closer to the tower and tried again the data that did come down came so slowly that it took about a minute to load the google home page.
The graphs below show data speeds from the port hills in Christchurch
I was pleasantly surprised with how well the vodafone thing performed for me, considering that voice from here is quite poor at times. Perhaps it says more about my orcon connection?
