The rain persisted for most of the weekend, but a short break in the clouds allowed us to get some trees into the ground and appreciate the feeling of moist rich soil at our fingertips.

With the sun peaking out from behind the clouds, the golden leaves of the poplars stood out with stunning vibrance against the backdrop of the misty valley views and rolling hills.

As we pressed the dirt in around the newly planted oaks and kowhais and marked out prime planting locations, the rain started up again, but with the sun still beaming through the broken clouds.  And for a few breathtaking moments two rainbows appeared side by side, arching gloriously across the sky.
