Details
One of the finest of ornamental berry plants is this neat, medium-sized shrub from China. With long, narrow leaves that turn deep rose-purple in autumn, it bears in summer clusters of numerous small, lilac flowers. These are followed by the berries - a mass of small coloured beads in shades of lilac, violet and rich purple that persist way into winter. Hardy throughout the British Isles.
